What Is Thatcham Approved?
Thatcham devices are alarms, immobilisers and other vehicle security devices that are assessed by Thatcham Research. They give these devices a Thatcham Security Certification after an assessment of their features and functions.
The Thatcham certification provides reassurance around the functionality, design and performance of aftermarket security devices.

WHAT IS A DATATOOL SUBSCRIPTION?
A subscription with any Datatool tracker gives you access to our mobile applications and the 24/7 monitoring feature.
WHAT DOES 24/7 MONITORING MEAN?
If your tracker detects unauthorised movement, it will notify our monitoring team, who will contact you to confirm a theft and then liaise with the police to retrieve your vehicle. Our monitoring center is open 24/7 every day of the year so you know your vehicle is always being monitored.
CAN I SET UP A SUBSCRIPTION AFTER PURCHASING A TRACKER?
Yes, you can set up a subscription whenever is convenient for you by simply calling us. After purchase without a subscription, our team will contact you to set you up an account, we also offer a monthly subscription option when purchased via phone.
WHAT IS A “LIFETIME” SUBSCRIPTION?
Our lifetime subscription offers you the benefit of a heavily discounted one-off payment to cover you for the duration of your ownership of the vehicle the subscription is purchased against. The cover is not transferable to another vehicle or customer in the event you no longer require the subscription.
Quantum Tracker Features
Arm/Disarm Feature
You must arm vehicle when not in use and disarm when in use. If the vehicle moves location whilst in armed state, you will receive a phone call by our Vehicle Recovery Team team to check the vehicle is safe.
battery alerts
You will receive a low battery alert via email when batteries are critical and require replacing. This is a system generated email. Batteries can be replaced by using instructions listed in the Quantum 3 User Guide. Unit fitting location will need to be confirmed by original installer.
Safe Zones
You can setup ‘Safe Zones’ which are essentially markers around the tracker that mark an area as ‘Safe’. If the vehicle moves outside this area whilst armed, the unit will alert to the customer.
Technical Information
- The unit will update with 30 second intervals while moving in recovery mode. When movement has stopped it will heartbeat every 10 minutes while stationary. It will then update every 30 seconds when it begins to move again.
- Tracker activates on first movement, after magnet underneath is removed.
- Installation and commissioning must be performed by Datatool Approved Installer.
- Supplied with double sided tapes and cable ties for installation.
Datatool Bike Alert and Recovery Process
1.
Vehicle Theft Attempt
The tracker will alert when there is an unexpected movement detection whilst vehicle is in ‘Armed’ mode.
2.
Alert is triggered
An alert will be triggered and the customer will be contacted by our Vehicle Recovery Team to check if the vehicle is safe.
3.
Vehicle recovery team
If a theft has taken place, our Vehicle Recovery Team will work in collaboration with the local authorities once we have received a Crime Reference Number, and begin a recovery.
